## Blend ideas together with Mix

Combine multiple images into a single hybrid concept and control how each one influences the final result.

## When to use Mix

Mix is a legacy workflow inside Workbench that allows you to merge two or more images into a new visual direction. Use Mix when:

- Exploring form language between concepts
- Blending materials or structures
- Combining brand DNA with your own shape
- Testing unexpected creative pairings

Mix is best suited for early stage exploration where discovering in between ideas is more important than refining a single direction. **Note: Mix is now a legacy workflow in Vizcom.**

## How to use Mix

Using Mix in Workbench:

1. Create a new file from your dashboard and open a Workbench canvas.
2. Insert a Mix block from the top toolbar.
3. Connect images to the Mix block using the (+) button.
4. Click Mix Images and allow processing.
5. Use the slider interface to control how much influence each image has.
6. Adjust ratios and regenerate to explore variations.

## Best practices when using Mix

- **Align your inputs**
  - Choose source images with similar perspective, scale, and orientation.
  - Align key features along similar axes for cleaner blends.
  - Consistent positioning produces more intentional results.
- **Start with two strong elements**
  - Begin with two clear, well defined inputs.
  - A 50 / 50 mix creates balanced outcomes.
  - Adjust ratios to emphasize specific design features.
  - Small percentage shifts can significantly change results.
- **Explore transitions intentionally**
  - Mix geometric and organic forms to study silhouette evolution.
  - Combine contrasting materials to test visual harmony.
  - Use strong results as new inputs for further exploration.
- **Experiment freely**
  - Unexpected combinations can unlock unique design directions.
  - Treat Mix as a visual conversation between concepts.

## Tips & FAQs

If blends feel chaotic, reduce the number of inputs or align them more carefully before mixing.

**FAQs:**

- Why does my mix look inconsistent?
Large differences in perspective, lighting, or scale between inputs can create unstable blends. Normalize your inputs first.
